Top 7 Packaging Materials for Ensuring Cargo Safety That Not Everyone Knows

0/5 (0 votes)

Most businesses and stores package their goods very poorly. Not only are they lacking in packaging techniques, but they also do not know how to use and optimize the right packaging materials for their products. So, what are the 7 packaging materials? Let's Hoàng Phúc Pack learn about them in the article below!

Packaging materials

1. Cardboard boxes

Cardboard boxes are a popular packaging material. Most businesses know and use them to package products. They are sturdy, strong, and have good elasticity, so they are trusted to protect and transport goods.

Cardboard boxes are divided into 3 popular types: 3-layer cardboard boxes, 5-layer cardboard boxes and 7-layer cardboard boxes. 3-layer cardboard boxes are the thinnest and lightest, trusted for storing household goods, small items, and domestic transport by truck or motorcycle. 5-layer and 7-layer cardboard boxes are thicker and larger. They are usually used for storing heavy items and transporting by truck, plane, or ship.

Cardboard boxes are a great packaging product, but not perfect. To package products more safely, you need to combine cardboard boxes with other materials listed below!

2. Bubble wrap

Bubble wrap is a type of transparent plastic film with round bubbles on the surface. This design makes the product thick, highly elastic, and impact-resistant. You can easily buy it from packaging manufacturers and suppliers. Bubble wrap is usually sold in rolls or designed as plastic bags for containing and storing products.

This packaging material is extremely suitable for products such as fragile glassware, household goods, and delicate accessories. It is very simple to use: you just need to wrap the product with bubble wrap, secure it with adhesive tape, and then put the product into cardboard boxes, and you will have an extremely sturdy and safe order.

3. PE Foam

PE Foam is also a very popular packaging material. It is soft, thin, light, and cushioned, making it very suitable for wrapping products. However, compared to bubble wrap, PE Foam is slightly harder to secure, so it is not used to wrap goods directly but is usually wrapped around the outside of cardboard boxes.

People wrap PE foam around the outside of cardboard boxes, secure it with adhesive tape, and then plastic straps. Cardboard boxes are already good, but wrapping them with PE foam makes them even harder to puncture and much more elastic. However, this material should only be used with large, heavy, and important products such as household appliances, furniture, etc. Small accessories such as clothes and shoes stored in small boxes are not easily damaged by impact, so wrapping them with bubble wrap would be unnecessary and wasteful.

4. Crushed paper

Crushed paper is an inexpensive material. You don't even need to buy it; you can make your own crushed paper to package products. Not only does it have excellent protection, but you can also use it for your products.

Crushed paper is simply finely cut paper. You can line the box containing the product with crushed paper to both decorate and secure the product. This helps prevent the product in the box from moving around, especially products smaller than the box. Today, you can easily buy crushed paper in various colors at gift stores. It will make your goods look beautiful, premium, and more valuable.

5. Wood shavings

Wood shavings are 100% natural materials. They are added to cardboard boxes to secure products. They also help reduce the impact force on the product. In general, their function and use are quite similar to crushed paper. However, crushed paper is suitable for affordable products and accessories. Wood shavings are suitable for more premium packaged products such as wine, ceramics, and other handicrafts.

6. PE film

The sixth packaging material is PE film, or plastic wrap. The name says it all: it is an essential material in packaging, agricultural product processing, and ready-made food industries, such as fast food, fried chicken, pizza, fruit, etc.

PE film is thin, light, and adhesive. It helps prevent external agents from entering the food, reduces moisture, and keeps food safe. You can easily buy large quantities of this plastic wrap from packaging manufacturers at discounted prices.

7. Kraft paper

Kraft paper is also a popular packaging material. It is usually used to wrap ceramics, cups, plates, vases, eggs, etc. Since this type of paper is soft and inexpensive, it can replace bubble wrap in cases where long-distance transport is not required and storage conditions are good, etc. In short, it is also one of the materials that helps package products safely, enhances the image and service quality of the business, and satisfies customers.
