Packaging guide for 8 industries you should consider

0/5 (0 votes)

Each product category has its own packaging method to protect the products and optimize material costs. This article Hoàng Phúc Pack will guide you on how to package products for 8 different categories. Please refer to the following.

Revealing how to package 8 common types of items

1. Electronic components

2. Glassware and fragile items

Glassware and ceramics, collectively known as fragile items, are products that both sellers and shipping companies are wary of. How to package them to provide optimal protection is a concern for many. Prepare the following items to start packaging fragile goods:

  • Cardboard boxes of the appropriate size

  • Bubble wrap

  • Newspaper/foam/rice husks/sawdust

  • Tape or tamper-evident labels

Just as with electronic components, wrap your product in bubble wrap, then place it in a suitable cardboard box and fill any gaps with rice husks, foam, newspaper, or sawdust to stabilize the contents and prevent movement inside the box.

Newspaper is relatively easy to find and inexpensive, but remember to crumple it up, which makes it an excellent choice. Soft foam is also quite effective and easy to purchase. Rice husks and sawdust are extremely effective, but you should choose a cardboard box that is large enough to be filled without leaving too much empty space, otherwise the box will be very heavy. Finally, tape up the cardboard box and add a fragile item label so that the carrier knows to handle it carefully and arrange it appropriately!

3. Stationery and books

Packaging stationery is much simpler than packaging electronic components and fragile products. The main priority is to protect the products from dust and scratches, ensuring they still look new when they reach the recipient.

The packaging materials needed for this category are:

  • Plastic wrap and tamper-evident bags

  • Cardboard boxes designed for books and stationery

  • Tape (high-quality tape with strong adhesion)

Wrap books and stationery in tamper-evident plastic bags to prevent dust and scratches. Then place them in a cardboard box of the appropriate size (ensuring there is not too much empty space in the box). Finally, seal the box with tape to ensure no one opens the products before they reach the buyer.

4. Important documents

For important documents, shipping companies usually provide tamper-evident bags. Use this type of bag to package each document separately. Due to the urgent and confidential nature of these goods, delivery personnel will be able to identify them by their packaging and manage the order more effectively, reducing the risk of loss or theft.

5. Household appliances

Household appliances have their own packaging methods to ensure product safety and quality. Wrap the product in at least 5 cm thick bubble wrap, then place it in a cardboard box. Fill any gaps with paper, foam, bubble wrap, etc. Tape it up and add an waterproof layer on the outside of the box to ensure the product stays dry.

6. Liquids and beverages

To protect liquid goods, make sure the bottle opening is securely sealed to prevent leaks, whether placed upright or upside down. When choosing a cardboard box, opt for one that is sturdy enough for plastic bottles. Use wooden boxes or plastic containers for glass bottles.

Fill any gaps in the box with sawdust. Not only does sawdust provide excellent shock protection, but it also absorbs moisture. If a product accidentally breaks or leaks, this material will absorb some of the liquid, preventing it from damaging or spoiling other packages in the box.

7. Footwear

Use bubble wrap or non-woven fabric for footwear. This material is highly effective at preventing dust. Place the shoes in a bag, or if they have a box, put them inside and wrap with a layer of waterproof material. Pack the shoes carefully in a box and seal it with tape. Make sure the box is neatly packed and there are no empty spaces remaining.

8. Dry Food

To ensure food safety when packaging and shipping dry food, you need to follow these rules:

  • Vacuum-pack the product: prevent moisture and block odors that attract insects and bacteria

  • Desiccant bags: materials that help maintain the appropriate humidity around the product, helping to prevent the product from spoiling quickly

Sellers should pay close attention to the expiration date on dry food products. Shipped goods must have at least 1 month of shelf life remaining to ensure consumer safety.
